FeedbackFruits for Peer Review

FeedbackFruits is an integration for Canvas that enables the creation of peer learning assignments, whether graded or ungraded. UMN currently has access to tools for self-assessment, peer review, and group evaluation.

FeedbackFruits offers 24-hour live chat support for teachers and students from Monday to Friday. We recommend using the tool in Chrome or Firefox browsers.

Peer Review

Peer review assignments allow students to comment on drafts of a deliverable such as a document, audio file, or video based on instructor-set criteria or rubrics. The tool supports attached documents, voice notes, and descriptive tags. Embedded links are not supported at this time.

Reviews can be anonymous. If using a deadline, students are assigned their reviews after the hand-in deadline passes. When set up to allow late submissions, reviews will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

Group Member Evaluation

This peer evaluation tool allows students (anonymous or not) to assess each other’s collaboration in a group project based on criteria set by the instructor. Evaluations can be set to release automatically or after a certain date.

Students can provide feedback as notes, attach files, or make voice recordings. Evaluatees can continue discussing their feedback by liking or replying to evaluation comments.
