Learning Experience Design 

Learning experience (LX) design is both the name of our team and our design approach which applies human-centered design principles to develop successful learning environments. LX design begins with how learners think, feel, and act in learning environments and uses these insights to improve how learning happens. In practice this means, building tools, activities, and materials that guide students toward skills, attitudes, and habits that will make them most successful.

The LX Framework  

The LATIS Learning Experience Framework divides instructional design into three interrelated elements:

  • Site design improves the usability of course learning technologies
  • Curriculum design clarifies and communicates instructional goals 
  • Interaction design provides opportunities for engagement between content, peers, and facilitators
